Abstract

This Excel-based DRD (Data Rich Deliverable) is part of the Business IT and Applications subscription. This deliverable includes market forecasts on RFID revenues in the US across vertical industries. Market forecasts are from 2007-2012 and include annual growth rates. RFID or radio frequency identification is a collection technology that uses electronic tags for storing data. The tag is made up of an RFID chip attached to an antenna. Transmitting in the kilohertz, megahertz and gigahertz ranges, tags may be battery-powered or derive their power from the RF waves coming from the reader. RFID tags do not require line of sight and can be embedded within packages. Vertical markets include Mining, Construction, Government, Services, FIRE (Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate), Manufacturing, Retail Trade, Wholesale and TCU (Telecommunications and Utilities). The Expert Guide for this deliverable is Stephanie Atkinson.
