"As printer and MFP ownership approaches saturation, three factors will characterize the home office segment: the increasing appeal of multifunction devices; the critical role played by replacement and additional machines; and the rapid adoption of more sophisticated color laser and solid ink technology," said Justin Jaffe, IDC senior research analyst, SMB/Home Office. "It is important for vendors hoping to increase their share of this growing market to understand the changing brand and technology preferences for printers and MFPs."
