The total production of soft drinks reached 19.24 million kl and JPY 3.83 trillion in 2007; both showed more than 3% growth compared with 2006. Products with a healthy product image, such as zero / low calorie content and with beneficial health effects, were the focus in the market. Coca-Cola, Suntory and Kirin are the leading three companies in the soft drinks market.
