Abstract

This IDC study draws on the results of Manufacturing Insights' Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) Manufacturing Vertical Market Survey, carried out from September 2007 to November 2007, among 122 high-tech and electronics manufacturers across 10 countries in the Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) region. The focus of the study is on both business and IT priorities as well as initiatives of APEJ electronics manufacturers in 2007 and 2008.

"The electronics industry in APEJ is in the growth mode, although there are concerns around potentially disruptive global events, which might impact their business. The manufacturers, particularly those in the small and medium-sized business (SMB) segment, are preparing themselves with the necessary IT tools and technology to support strategic objectives and growth. The market for IT systems and solutions should be vibrant for the next 12 months," says Debashis Tarafdar, senior research manager, Manufacturing Insights Asia/Pacific.
