Local banking system continues to post strong increase in both credit and deposits. Banks' assets amounted to EUR 73.5 billion at the end of 2007 reaching more than 62% of the GDP. Foreign investment and market consolidation were the main drivers of insurance sector. Two companies, ING and Allianz-Tiriac, were able to attract 60% of participants.
