Many of the camera purchases have been for remote applications like ENG/EFP, sports and other field operations. Portability is of utmost importance. Bulk is out. Camcorders are more streamlined and offer a much better bang for the buck. Less is more and going tapeless without cumbersome ancillary devices, is commanding the attention of all six vertical markets. One only has to look at what curries favor in the market today. ENG/EFP applications are king, with cameras that support it commanding a 65.1% market share.
