The Boston Beer Company (Boston Beer) is engaged in the production and sale of low-alcohol beverages. The company plans to pursue its strategy of combining brewery ownership with production arrangements at breweries owned by third parties.

The company produces 21 seasonal and year-round varieties of craft-brewed beers. It is the sixth largest brewer in the US. Boston Beer sells its products to a network of approximately 400 wholesale distributors, retailers such as pubs, restaurants, grocery chains, package stores, stadiums and other retail outlets. The company sells its products mainly in the US, but also has markets in Canada, Europe, Israel, the Caribbean and the Pacific Rim. In August 2007, the company signed a purchase and sale agreement with Diageo North America to acquire a brewery located 60 miles outside of Philadelphia, for $55 million. The agreement is expected to culminate in late spring 2008.
