Data Problems Restrain Large B2B Enterprises from Adopting Price Management Solutions

Enterprises indicate data readiness is the number-one obstacle to adopting an enterprise software price solution, according to the Yankee Group 2005 US Price Management & Profit Optimization Survey. Of those respondents signifying data as their number-one problem, 79% are planning to buy and 21% are currently using a solution. Ranking higher than cost, data insufficiency inhibits enterprises from moving forward with a technology software solution.

Price management software is a data-intensive application requiring scores of information to measure success, plan prices, transact price transactions and enforce price policies as it unites many different business functions in an organization. Like any other enterprise application deployment project, getting your data in order can be a monumental task. With B2B price management—a nascent technology on the cusp of a growth market—it’s no wonder many companies hesitate to make the leap until they feel they have their data in order.
