AbstractSMi's 5th Annual NATO Defence Procurement conference will assess NATO’s implementation of procurement programmes by providing an international forum for the presentation of studies, experiences and analyses. The conference will provide an interactive platform for reviewing NATO and national procurement case studies, obtaining industry views and develop recommendations on implementation procedures for streamlining future procurement and acquisition.
Key topics for consideration include changes in NATO procurement policies, budget requirements and considerations, assessment of past and present procurement programmes and projects for the improvement of military capabilities through future procurement programmes.
NATO leaders have set in motion an ambitious modernisation process focusing on improving military capabilities, welcoming new members and forging and strengthening relationships with partners. The importance of a ready and viable infrastructure is more vital to NATO now than ever before and the emphasis on high technology equipment makes NATO an attractive option for firms supplying a wide variety of products and services.
