This IDC study provides a vendor profile of Unisys in the market for RFID system services. RFID is a key component of Unisys' services strategy, and the company has established a strong foothold in key industry segments; however, substantial business development investments in new target markets such as aerospace will have to be managed carefully so that they do not defocus resources applied to Unisys' established markets. "As Unisys drives further into the managed RFID services space, IDC believes that the company has a strong base of resources and alliances to leverage to help lower the technology adoption barriers for companies considering RFID," says Curtis Price, program director for Network Professional Services.
