Abstract

This IDC study provides a competitive analysis of worldwide collaborative product development (CPD) applications providers. Revenue data for 2003?2005 and market share and growth information provide an overview of the CPD players and their clout in this relatively mature market.

There is no doubt that competition in CPD is heating up as vendors are building out their product lines. Traditional CPD applications providers such as Dassault Systèmes, UGS, Autodesk, and PTC are expanding their market reach by offering more industry-specific solutions, more applications for R&D collaboration, and software to support global product development management. All of these vendors are also targeting the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market.
