Real ID: A Marathon Not a SprintPublished by: INPUT Published: Aug. 1, 2006 - 7 Pages Table of Contents
AbstractThe Real ID Act of 2005 calls for states to make sweeping changes to the way they issue official identification documents, such as driver licenses and ID cards, to citizens. These changes will necessitate changes to business processes and major investments in technology to facilitate compliance. States are currently in a holding pattern waiting for the much anticipated release of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidance on Real ID. The draft version of this regulation is expected to be released by the end of 2006. INPUT expects $2.5 billion in state implementation costs between 2006 and 2012 as states comply with the new law.Get Full Details About This Report >> |
