Abstract

The nature of Underwater Warfare is changing radically due to the evolution of the strategic environment and the advent of new technology. SMi’s Underwater Warfare 2006 will examine expeditionary operations, discussing current and emerging operational requirements for underwater platforms. It will consider the fast-paced development of underwater systems, identifying new technologies and countermeasures that will enhance future underwater warfare.

Port protection will be discussed, looking at AUVs and mine countermeasures. You will also hear about submarine warfare developments and the employment of submarines by NATO and NATO nations. Underwater Warfare 2006 will feature representatives from organisations such as UK MoD, International Navies and NATO, allowing delegates to network with international experts and key decision-makers in this field.

An international speaker line-up including Special Presentations from:
  • Captain Geir Flage, Commander, Norwegian MCM Flotilla, and Commander Bjoern-Erik Marthinsen, Royal Norwegian Navy
