Abstract

Panasonic Automotive Systems Company (PAS) is a division of AVC Networks, a segment of its parent company Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd (MEI). PAS is headquartered in Kanagawa, Japan, and focuses primarily on the automotive electronics sector. PAS operates through two segments, namely, Automotive Multimedia, and Environment, Energy & Safety. It offers multimedia solutions using sophisticated technologies ranging from digital AV equipment, car audio and navigation system and telematics. During FY 2004/05 (ended March 31, 2005) MEI registered consolidated net sales of ¥8,713,636 million, an increase of 16.5% compared year-on-year. The AVC Networks’ segment sales during the above mentioned period stood at ¥3,558,831 million, which declined by 1.8% from FY 2003/04.
