Synopsis

Abstract

This IDC study examines the market landscape and provides a five-year forecast for the worldwide and U.S. HR services market. In 2005, the economy showed further signs of recovery, and HR services spending grew 10.1% worldwide over 2004. Although the North American and European markets grew solidly, the most dramatic growth occurred in the Asia/Pacific market, where employers in a number of countries are expanding due to offshoring contracts and the market previously closed has opened to payroll processing and other HR services.

"The worldwide market for HR services showed solid growth in 2005," said Lisa Rowan, program manager for HR and Talent Management Services at IDC. "HR service providers have an opportunity to grow their businesses through the pursuit of several strategies, including focusing on talent management, achieving platform efficiencies, and looking to underserved markets. Buyers are advised to examine their own role in ever-lengthening sales cycles, look beyond immediate pain points to plan for the future, and take a closer look at all of their HR processes as possible candidates for outsourcing."
