- Summary
AbstractIt is in this context that we offer TowerGroup's third "Top 10 List" for the capital markets industry. This list responds to the most frequent question TowerGroup clients ask our analysts: "What will be the top drivers for brokerage firms next year, and what do these trends mean?" The top 10 list represents the collective insight of our analysts focusing on what we believe will be the major business drivers for sell-side CEOs in 2006. We then take each driver and relate the strategic response it is likely to create among firms. The final step is to relate each driver and strategic response(s) to particular technology initiatives in which they are likely to manifest themselves.
The Research Note concludes with a look at the trends in business drivers and technology initiatives over time. Each of the drivers and subsequent technology priorities warrants more detail than can be provided in this Note. Much of that detail is available to clients in the TowerGroup Research Note library with the residual in the intellectual capital of our analysts. Our 2005 research calendar has reflected many of these priorities, and research coverage throughout 2006 will continue to mirror the top priorities of our institutional brokerage clients.
