The company operates through six business segments, namely, Energy and Electric Systems, Home Appliances, Industrial Automation Systems, Information and Communication Systems, Electric Devices and Others (distribution, advertising, real estate, materials, materials procurement, and additional services). The Industrial Automation Systems segment serves the automotive industry through its Factory Automation Systems business, which supplies manufacturing equipment, such as computerised numerical controllers and electrical discharge machine. The segment also houses Mitsubishi Electric’s Automotive Equipment business that supplies products, such as EPS motors, alternators, ABS control units, and DVD car navigation systems, among others. In the FY2004/05 (ended March 31, 2005), Mitsubishi Electric posted net sales of ¥3,410,685 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.
