Abstract

As protein arrays have become more consistent and reliable, scientists have begun to incorporate them into their proteomics experiments. The technology's ability to detect protein expression more quickly and easily than traditional approaches has begun to transform the dream of characterizing an organism's entire collection of proteins (i.e., proteome) into reality through high throughput analysis. While there is tremendous excitement about the potential of protein arrays to further our understanding about protein function, there are also concerns over frustrating technical limitations.
