Electronics Report - May 2005Published by: In-Stat Published: May. 30, 2005 - 17 Pages Table of ContentsPlease Note: Due to the brevity and/or nature of the content posted, there is no table of contents available for this report. AbstractIn-Stat observed the market revenues for the March 2005 worldwide semiconductor trade outstripped the revenues of March 2004 by 7.2%. The pace was not as robust as the trend for Q1 on the whole. Quarterly revenue gain appears to be pre-dominantly the result of higher ASP ($0.534 Q1 2005 versus $0.473 Q1 2004, for an 11.9% increase) of semiconductors than unit shipment sales (only up 1.6% from Q1 of the year before). Regionally, Asia Pacific accounted for 43.5% of all semiconductor-manufacturing revenues in March 2005. By product, MOS Micro was the strongest product category followed closely by MOS Logic. Additionally, for the May report, In-Stat coverage has been expanded to include information from the quarterly summit call by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).The May 2005 Electronics Report is the comprehensive source for March 2005 market data, including semiconductor shipments, currency trends, book-to-bill ratios of key market segments and selected US end-product sales. The graphs and tables are handy reference guides toward understanding trends in the fast-moving semiconductor landscape. Analysis is brief, but to the point. The Electronics Report converts data from the SIA, the WSTS, US Department of Commerce, the US Federal Reserve Board, IPC and SEMI into a convenient platform that helps facilitate understanding of this high technology.
