the content posted, there is no table of contents available for this report. AbstractWorldwide MultiService (ATM/Frame Relay) WAN switch sales grew 6% in 4Q 2000. Revenues were $5.5 billion in 2000, an increase of 23.5% from 1999. 90% of MultiService WAN switch revenues came from sales to service providers. ATM WAN equipment revenues continued to grow as a percentage of the total sales of ATM equipment (WAN Switches, LAN switches, NICs). Market preference for high-speed Ethernet switches in the LAN resulted in declining sales of ATM LAN switches and NICs in 2000. Worldwide ATM WAN switch sales are expected to grow more slowly in 2001 than 2000 due to the slowdown in economic growth and service provider capital spending. This report includes detailed equipment vendor market shares for MulitService WAN switches sold to service providers and enterprises, ATM LAN switches, and ATM NICs, as well as a rolling three-quarter forecast of the ATM market.
