Q1 2000 ATM, VoIP and MultiService Switch Market SharesPublished by: In-Stat Published: May. 1, 2000 - 45 Pages Table of Contents
AbstractATM continued "red-lining" in the LAN and at the desktop in Q1 2000. However, the outlook for ATM WAN switching is strong. In 2000, Cahners In-Stat Group expects ATM WAN switch sales to grow 46 percent over 1999, to $4.1 billion. The majority of WAN ATM switch sales were to service providers (86 percent), many of whom are extending their networks to support combined data, voice and fax services. ATM is widely deployed in carrier network backbones and is still the obvious choice for interconnecting private and public networks. This report includes detailed market shares and a rolling, three-quarter forecast of the ATM equipment market, including LAN switches, WAN switches, NICs and multiservice ATM/Frame Relay switches.
