Irish Construction Industry Review 2006

This report outlines the key issues and the subsequent technology responses currently present in the Building and Construction industry. The main issues and challenges include labour issues and the integration of foreign nationals into the Irish economy; waste management, energy conservation and sustainability across the building and construction sectors and health and safety concerns. The economic development that has transformed the Irish economy over the last 20 years has brought about an array of economic and social concerns such as urban sprawl, increased residential and non-residential rents and prices and a huge increase in inflation. These favourable economic conditions have also generated a multi billion euro building and construction industry that has seen land prices soar particularly in Dublin.
