In India, there is increasing awareness of the health problems associated with tobacco use. Recently, the Indian government has ended most tobacco advertising and banned smoking in public places. NRT, bupropion and Pfizer's Chantix are marketed as smoking cessation aids in India. NRT, in the form of chewing-gum and lozenges, is available OTC from shops without a prescription.
