5.1.2.19 Scalable Plate Carrier (SPC)

In November 2010, Alliant Techsystems Inc (ATK) announced that Eagle Industries Unlimited Inc had been awarded a contract worth $18.5m to supply the US Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) with Scalable Plate Carrier (SPC) components and spare parts, following on from the company’s first SPC contract in 2007. ATK added that Eagle Industries had already produced 65,000 units of the SPC, which was intended to lighten the load for marines operating at high altitudes in Afghanistan.
