| Countries covered: United States The Small Business Computer Demand Tracker is a quarterly mail survey of Small Business owners and operators in the United States. The first wave of the study commenced in the 2nd Quarter of 2003. The current wave of the study was launched in the 3rd Quarter of 2003. The sample for the study was drawn from TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence’s Insights PanelSM, a group of over 7,000 small and home-based business owners/senior executives who have consented to participate in research studies in return for monetary incentives. The term Small Businesses (or SOHOs) refers collectively to both small and home-based business operations. For the purposes of this research, small businesses are defined as having less than 50 employees & annual revenues under $20 million. Home businesses have less than 20 employees & an address that matches their residence. There are approximately 20 million small and home businesses in the country today that match this description. TechnoMetrica has developed the Small Business Computer Tracking Index to monitor and track the level of demand for new computer equipment among American Small and Home-Based Businesses (SOHOs). The TechnoMetrica Small Business Computer Demand Tracking Index is calculated based on the expected changes in computer spending over the next 6 months (increase, decrease, or no change). The index scores range from 0 to 100, where an index score above 50 means new computer equipment spending for the market segment is bullish and an index score below 50 indicates a bearish market. The higher the index score, the higher the anticipated spending. An index score of 50 indicates neutrality. Prices reflect yearly subscriptions |
