Soyatech Biofuels Index

The Biofuels Index (BFI) currently includes approximately 600 ethanol and biodiesel plants at various stages of operational readiness and development. The index includes details for each biofuel plant including: location (city, county, state), corporate affiliation (parents, major stakeholders), marketing alliances, type of biofuel produced, production capacity, feedstocks used and potential feedstock demand.

At the end of each quarter, plants are allocated into one of three buckets: operational, in construction and in the planning phase. As a project develops, the BFI provides a snapshot of an individual project’s progress by the end of that quarter, as well as a long-term view of total industry growth.

The BFI’s pivot table functionality enables segmentation and analysis by various categories: fuel type, state, parent company, marketing alliance, as well as newly announced projects, projects newly under construction or newly operational, in any combination. The pivot table also quickly cross tabulates and summarizes data.
