Additional Information

Stamford, CT - November 28, 2011 - The online segment is driving the worldwide market for yellow pages, which is expected to reach US$26.95 billion by the end of 2011, according to a recent report from publishing and media forecast firm Simba Information. The report projects that especially strong online growth in Europe and South America will lead the entire worldwide yellow pages market to reach a 50/50 revenue split between online and print by 2015.

Growth in the online segment is helping to offset a decline in print revenue, which has fallen 16.7%, since 2000. Online revenues are expected to comprise 35.2% of the world yellow pages market by 2013, up from 26.6% in 2011, according to the report. South America posted the highest percentage of online revenue, followed by Europe; Asia and the Pacific Rim posted the smallest percentage.

"Europe and South America will reach nearly 50% digital and print by 2013," said Dave Goddard, senior analyst for Simba Information and author of the report. "Specifically, Belgium, Denmark, France, Sweden and Portugal already represent a 50/50 model."

According to the report, which tracks publishers in 29 leading countries representing five continents, the top 10 countries measured by revenue account for 77.4% of total online revenue. Among the top 10 countries are the United States, France and Australia.

"There's a lot of opportunity in the online segment throughout the world," Goddard said. "If you think of every device that has a means of accessing the Internet as a potential opportunity for yellow pages usage, the opportunities become limitless."

The report, Worldwide Yellow Pages 2011: Evolution to Online, provides profiles and revenue by publisher in the 29 leading yellow pages markets and details print and online revenue for each country in the five regions-North America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
