Bulgaria Macro Profile 2011 (Macroeconomic Report)

Bulgaria enters 2012 with a growing economy, but signs of approaching new slowdown are visible. Nevertheless, Bulgaria managed to survive the global economic downturn relatively better than most countries in the region due to cautious and conservative public finance management by the government. It is the only European country with upgrade of the credit rating by Moody’s since the beginning of 2010.
