The proliferation of 3G and wireless broadband technologies, such as WiMAX, will enable the coverage of a growing percentage of the population, spread across the many islands of the archipelago. This will be reflected in service revenue terms, with fixed broadband advancing at an 11.3% CAGR and mobile data at a 5.4% CAGR from 2011 to 2016. Both segments will account for the vast majority of new revenue creation between 2011 and 2016, accounting for $1.2bn or 67.3% of additional revenue created in the period. Overall, total telecom service revenue will grow throughout the forecast period at an expected 4.1% CAGR, reaching $9.4bn by 2016. |
