World output rose 9.0% year-on-year in 2011Q1, as emerging markets expanded 10.0% and developed world production rose 7.3%. On a sub-sector basis, iron & steel production rose 9.5% in 2011Q1 while nonferrous output expanded 5.9%. Meanwhile Q1 castings output rose at the quickest pace, up 13.4%.
