This profile is an update of the study published by Off-Highway Research in 2009 on the European activities of Kubota. It focuses on the construction equipment side of the business, but also comments on farm machinery. The company does not have a centralised administration for the European region, although there is a company in Paris bearing the name of Kubota Europe, which has certain functions described in this report.
In 2007 the European operations began to sell a line of larger agricultural tractors up to 130 horsepower, thus changing the emphasis from pure compact tractors into more general purpose products with applications in livestock and even arable farming. In December 2013, Kubota further strengthened its commitment to the agricultural sector by announcing plans to build a new tractor assembly factory near Dunkirk in northern France for the production of mid size tractors in the 130 to 170 horsepower range.
