Email Marketing: market research reports

70

Email marketing is a form of marketing that uses electronic mail to communicate advertising and fundraising messages to a large audience. Email messages are sent to develop and maintain relationships between businesses or organizations and their customers or patrons. The goal is to encourage customer loyalty. Email marketing is also used to acquire new customers and to encourage immediate purchases.

Email marketing is a popular form of advertising because the return on investment can be tracked. Advertisers can reach a large number of email subscribers, and over half of all internet users tap into their email daily.

Opt in email marketing is a form of permission email advertising. This method involves securing the permission of the recipients in order to receive the advertising. Opt in marketing helps ensure that the consumer is receptive to the email communication.

Advantages to email marketing include the speed at which your target audience receives advertising, the ability to reach email users all over the world and the affordability of email marketing.

One of the disadvantages to using email marketing is the deliverability issue. Email servers typically have a 20% delivery rejection rate, and 8% are said to be filtered.

Many businesses use email marketing, including small business, home businesses, large corporations, retail operations, political campaigns and charities.

Email marketing software is a computer application that is used in email marketing. The software provides the ability to deliver bulk email to a specific audience. The software includes a database that saves statistics, contact information and message history.
