Affected by the global financial turmoil, global desktop PC demand was weakened at the beginning of 2009. Even though the global market was stabilizing in the second half of 2009, global desktop PC shipment volume for full year 2009 still declined compared to full year 2008. On the contrary, as international brand-name vendors accelerated and increased their outsourcing orders to Taiwanese manufacturers, the Taiwanese desktop PC industry's shipment volume grew rapidly and the industry's share of the global shipment also increased in 2009.This report profiles changes in Taiwanese desktop PC industry over the years and analyzes Taiwanese manufacturers' shipment volume, value, and types, providing an outlook of the industry in 2010 and beyond.
