Equipment and supplies is a general term used in corporate and manufacturing settings in a variety of industries, such as the medical field, construction, the food industry. It is defined as expendable and nonexpendable tools, materials, apparatus, and instruments that are used to perform specific functions.

For example, in the healthcare field, equipment and supplies are used in diagnostic, surgical, therapeutic, scientific, and experimental procedures.

Wound care, for instance, requires a steady supply of cleansers and bandages. While a negative pressure wound therapy machine is an example of wound care equipment.

Clinical labs contain medical equipment for the purpose of diagnosing specimens, from the centrifuge for processing the sample, to the computer hardware and software for analyzing the data; as well as supplies such as blood collection items, cups, vials and tubes.
