Informatics: market research reports

The term informatics refers broadly to the use of information technology as a tool in conducting biomedical research. Because of the vast amounts of information produced during and made possibly by advances in genomics, proteomics, molecular imaging, and other areas of advanced study, information technology is becoming the lynchpin in making sense of it all. Virtually none of the steps in basic biomedical research and modern drug discovery today could be done without supporting software, so informatics now touches almost all aspects of discovery methods and techniques.

Commercially, bioinformatics and various in-silico methods have been particularly focused on the drug discovery and development process and are used to enhance and speed up the discovery and understanding of biological-chemical interactions in the fields of proteomics, combinatorial chemistry, pathway analysis, predictive biology, SAR, QSAR, toxicology and ADME, metabolomics, structure-based design, and many other emerging techniques.
