Espicom Telecommunications Intelligence was originally formed as International Telecommunications Intelligence over 20 years ago, in 1983 and later went on to become part of the MDIS Publications group before being acquired by McGraw Hill in 1989. Following a management buy-out in late 1992, the company returned to private ownership as part of MDIS Publications, (later renamed Espicom Business Intelligence) which also provides high-quality news and information services for the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industries.

The decision has been taken to revert to a derivative of the original Company name, International Telecoms Intelligence (ITI) to better reflect the core-capabilities and mission of the new company.
