JSC Dneprovsky Integrated Iron&Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky is one of the largest enterprises of ferrous metal industry with full-scale process cycle.

The works is the sixth greatest steelmaker in Ukraine in production volume and volume of sales. Spring of 1887 is the date of birth of Dneprovsky Iron and Steel plant (since 1984 - Integrated Works). The first blast furnace was launched in 1889. The production was positioned in Ekatirinoslavskaya province (since 1926, Dnepropetrovsky region), near village of Kamenskoe (since 1917 town of Kamenskoe, since 1936 - town of Dneprodzerzhinsk), nearby which Ekaterininoslavskaya railway, built in 1884, connected Donetsk coal basin and Krivyi Rih iron ore basin, run. Besides, the village occurred in the vicinity of great water way - Dnieper river. Geographical position of the village (with its limitless water resources) created the necessary prerequisites for the construction of large metallurgical plant.

On February 27, 1997, the Works were transformed into Public Joint Stock Company "Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Integrated Works named after Dzerzhinsky". Now JSC "Dneprovsky Integrated Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky" (the Dzerzhinsky DMK or DMK IM. DZERZHINSKY or simply DMK in Russian abbreviation, or DIISW in English abbreviation) is the largest enterprise in the Dneprodzerzhinsk city (so-called "city-forming" enterprise), its share in industrial structure of the city is 60 %. More than 20 thousands of people work at the Works. This is 20 % of able-bodied population of the town.

The Works supplies its products to domestic clients, CIS countries and worldwide, including Western and Eastern Europe, America, Near East, China. The Works produces around 8% of Ukrainian steel, being the sixth greatest producer and supplier of rolled steel in the country.
