Mariupol Ilyich Integrated Iron-and-Steel Works, located in Mariupol city, Donetsk region, at Azov Sea coast, is one of the greatest steelmakers in Ukraine. The enterprise specializes in flat-rolled products and exports its products to above 70 countries.

Mariupol Ilyich (MMK) was commissioned in the end of 19th century by Nikopol-Mariupol company. In 1897, the first products were yielded by the Works pipe-electrowelding plant. Later, the enterprise repeatedly reconstructed and expanded. The enterprise was sited next to sources of raw materials and power resources. Its advantage is availability of sea port in Mariupol city. The company is Ukrainian leader in production of plates, steel sheet, tin-plate and galvanised steel, steel coated with polymer, hot-rolled and electrowelded pipes (for oil pipelines), steel strip.

The key aspect of the Works' activity is to produce high quality steel plate used in important structures, shipbuilding, pipelines, gas pipes, water supply pipes, compressed gas balloons. Among the basic products are: iron ore sinter for iron production, iron, granulated slag and screened into size ranges crushed stone, ñast and rolled slabs, mono and bimetal plates, hot-rolled products including pickled and cold)rolled products in coils and sheets, cold-rolled steel (including galvanized steel) in coils and sheets, steel strip, seamless and welded pipes, steel balloons for gases.

Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works is the supplier of steel plates for shipbuilding industry. This metal is certified by acknowledged international certification centres. Many ship hulls for Ukrainian and Russian merchant and icebreakers fleets and navy are made of metal produced at the Mariupol Ilyich Works.
