Azovstal Integrated Iron-and-Steel Works is located in Mariupol city, Donetsk oblast, at Azov Sea coast. "Azovstal" has an extended transportation system including a sea port.

Azovstal, commissioned in mid-1933, is the one of the largest steel mills in Ukraine. The integrated facility incorporates ironmaking, steelmaking and rolling mills. The main products of Azovstal are rails, heavy sections and plates. Azovstal is Ukrainian monopolist in production of plates from low-alloyed and special steels, steels for bridge and ship building, high-pressure boilers, thick strip for pipes. The major products of the Works are certified by the leading international classification bodies: Lloyds Register of Shipping, German Lloyd, Det Norske Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, TUV Rheinland, American Petroleum Institute, Bureau Veritas (France), Maritime Register of Shipping (Russia), by whom 26 certificates have been issued to AZOVSTAL's steel products. ISO 9001 Quality management System has been implemented at the Works.

In 2010, in volumes of iron, crude steel and rolled steel production, Azovstal ranked the second in Ukraine (after ArcelorMittal Krivyi Rih). Among Azovstal partners are RAO Gazprom, TYSSEN, FERROSTAAL, Wagner, Siemens, Duferco SA (Switzerland), Samsung, Metalsasia (Hong Kong).

At present time, Azovstal is a subsidiary of Metinvest Group. Metinvest includes enterprises, providing complete cycle of ferrous metals production, from mining in processing resources (including coal and coke) up to high-value-added products (rolled steel, pipes, etc.). The Group also has developed domestic sales and service network: Metinvest-Ukraine and Metinvest-SMTs.
