This IDC study quantifies the aggregate amount of user-generated content (UGC) globally by UGC subcategory (still images and personal video content) in gigabytes. It also forecasts the aggregate UGC archived by location in gigabytes. Please note that this study focuses specifically on video created from digital cameras, mobile phones, and digital camcorders. It does not quantify paid content such as video, films, television, or other service-oriented content.

"Consumer video capture is driving UGC creation," says Chris Chute, research manager, Digital Imaging Solutions and Services.
