"As an increasing number of vendors begin to offer customer choice on both licensing and delivery models, IDC expects a growing number of customers will prefer models that feature a subscription," said Amy Konary, program director for Software Pricing, Licensing, and Delivery. "However, IDC expects the market will reach an equilibrium at some point, where subscription will make up a relatively constant proportion of overall software revenue." |
