This IDC study examines the growth of the market for network-enabled video devices in the home in the United States and worldwide, forecasting the shipments and installed base of a variety of network-enabled video devices, including DVD players and recorders, digital televisions, and digital media adapters.
"Networked video in the home is entering its third phase, going beyond merely being another input to the television and integrating with consumers' larger universe of online activities, opening up new opportunities and pitfalls for vendors up and down the value chain," said Jonathan Gaw, research manager for IDC's Connected Home program.
