Worldwide Human Capital Management Applications 2011 Vendor Shares

This IDC study examines the human capital management applications market for the period from 2009 to 2011. The market for human capital management solutions remains strong, with no signs of slowing down near term. Despite much market consolidation, spending is spread across a large number of vendors, with share dropping to single digits below the top 2 vendors — SAP and Oracle. With the acquisitions of SuccessFactors and Taleo, respectively, the gap between the top share holders and the rest of the field will only widen.

"Drivers for this level of investment include a desire for a global view into the workforce, a need to accomplish more with fewer HR resources, and the emerging popularity of SaaS-based solutions."
