This IDC study offers a forecast of the worldwide and U.S. DVD markets. The red laser DVD forecast focuses on the following market segments: DVD players, recorders, combo devices, home theater in a box solutions, portable, and automotive. Also included is a forecast of the emerging blue laser, or next-generation, DVD segment. This forecast does not include DVD drives intended to work in conjunction with personal computers. This forecast also does not include DVD drives that are incorporated into game console devices.
