Historical and forecast revenue data and market share is shown for the total worldwide market and submarkets by geographic region. This study does not contain vendor-specific revenue, market share, or vendor profiles, all of which will be published in separate studies during 2011.

"Collaborative applications represent the fundamental tools for people and organizations to not only communicate and work productively but also conduct business," said Erin Traudt, research director for IDC's Enterprise Collaboration and Social Solutions Practice. "Although the global economic recession still lingers, the worldwide collaborative applications market performed a little better than expected in 2010; however, double-digit growth is not expected now until 2013."
