This IDC study surveys wired networking options in the home, including HomePlug, G.hn, and MoCA, and assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each of them.
"For the next several years, 'no new wires' wired networking standards in the home will grow in importance as their technologies improve and the need for bandwidth throughout the home grows. But with standards in flux, the market will appropriately lean toward caution, focused on the demand for multiroom television services," said Jonathan Gaw, research manager of IDC's Connected Home program.
