This IDC study presents in-depth analysis of the Western European market for supply chain management (SCM) applications, with all data expressed in constant dollars. The study ranks the largest vendors by functional markets (three SCM functional markets) and reviews the market performance by country and functional market. The study also contains reviews of the top 10 SCM vendors. Finally, we provide essential guidance on key strategic priorities for SCM vendors.
The SCM market, after seeing a significant decline in 2009, grew 3% in constant currencies to $2.1 billion by the end of 2010 in Western Europe. Among the top 10 vendors, Oracle showed the strongest growth at 24%. However, despite a 27% SCM market share by SAP, the top 5 vendors control less than half of the total market. "Despite tough economic times affecting budgets, organizations are looking to improve their forecast accuracy while being able to respond quickly to changes in demand across all systems within their supply chain, which the vendors can help with," said Spencer Izard, research manager, IDC European Enterprise Applications.
