Western Europe Software-as-a-Service Applications 2012 Vendor Shares
This IDC study provides a sizing of the Western European software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications market in 2011 and 2012. Furthermore, the market is broken down by secondary market (7 secondary markets, excluding consumer applications) and country (16 Western European countries). IDC lists the top 5 vendors for each secondary market and major European country/region. Finally, IDC provides guidance for buyers and vendors of SaaS applications in Europe.
"In Western Europe, this study shows that SaaS adoption is now in a phase of rapid growth, both in relative as well as in absolute terms. SaaS has started to shift market shares in software overall. The study also shows that although SaaS adoption is vastly different from one applications market to the next, the cloud revolution is sweeping across all application areas bar none," said Bo Lykkegaard, research director, IDC European Enterprise Applications. "U.S.-based vendors dominate the market for SaaS applications in Europe, but European vendors of SaaS solutions are rising fast, particularly in the business applications space. IDC believes future market leadership is only possible via leadership in the SaaS segments."
