This IDC study analyzes business priorities among Western European SMBs in 2015, drawing on the results of the IDC European Vertical Markets Survey carried out between August and October 2015 among 1,588 companies with more than 10 employees in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. The results of this study cover 751 respondents in the SMB segment (organizations with 10–49 employees), and analyses are detailed by company size (10–49, 50–99, 100–249, and 250–499 employees) and vertical market (financial services, process manufacturing, discrete manufacturing, healthcare, telecom/media, utilities/oil and gas, retail/wholesale, professional services/transport, and government/education)."With more than 70% of Western European SMBs willing to increase their IT spending in 2015, understanding the business priorities of SMBs is essential for IT vendors that want to ride the wave of optimism that is tentatively pervading Western European companies and help SMBs embrace the digital transformation revolution that is shaking the SMB scenario," said Andrea Siviero, senior research analyst, IDC European Industry Solutions. "A size-class-diversified market strategy focused on data protection, with an eye on customer care enhancement, will be the perfect formula on which IT vendors have to found their market strategies to succeed in the varied SMB scenario."
