Verizon FiOS Combines Multiscreen and Data Analytics to Take a Quantum Leap in Broadband Upgrades
This IDC Insight discusses Verizon's 2013 Consumer Analyst event held in November, where the company focused on FiOS and its overall broadband portfolio. One of the most interesting initiatives presented was a cutting-edge approach, using data analytics in a multiscreen environment to drive broadband speed upgrades in order to generate higher broadband ARPU. The results are astounding — less than 1% of FiOS customers subscribed to Quantum broadband speeds over 50/25Mbps in 1Q12. While that number grew to approximately 25% just prior to the start of the campaign in February 2013, that number accelerated to over 40% in just two full quarters.
